「リーディングプログラムのレガシーと修了生への期待」"Legacies from the Leading Program and Expectations for Graduates"

リーディングフォーラム2017は、初年度採択プログラムが最終年度を迎えるタイミングであることを踏まえ、各プログラムの取組内容や、履修生自身が得た成果や身につけたスキルを発信するのみでなく、リーディングプログラムの「レガシー（受け継いでいくべき財産）」とは何か、また今後の大学院教育はどうあるべきかを議論し、産業界が博士人材の価値を見出すきっかけを提供することを目的として開催する。

The Leading Forum 2017 will be held in the last part of the fiscal year for all the programs that commenced with the inception of the Leading Program. During this forum, we would like to highlight the legacies from the respective programs and how they can endow future graduate students with prospective opportunities. In addition to showcasing the programs, the forum will display the outcome and skills that the students gained through their activities so that the industrial and commercial representatives will comprehend the value in hiring PhD professionals.

ご挨拶Greetings

21 世紀に入って以降、これまでの常識では想像できなかった、世界を揺るがす大事件が次々に起こっています。また、我が国では、世界でも類をみない超高齢社会がすでに到来しており、国の将来に対する不安が広がる中、地球規模の課題の解決に挑戦し、次代の扉を開く優秀な人材へのニーズが高まっています。こうした状況を背景に、2011 年、文部科学省が支援する博士課程教育リーディングプログラムがスタートいたしました。
全ての採択プログラムが集う最後の機会となる本年度のリーディングフォーラムは、リーディングプログラムの 成 果 や 財 産 に焦点を当てています。33 大学、62プログラムの皆様にご協力をいただき、一般社団法人日本経済団体連合会、一般社団法人中部経済連合会、中部経済同友会の皆様からのご後援の下、 このように盛大に開催できますこと、関係者の皆様に厚く御礼申し上げます。学生による事前議論をあわせますと3日間にわたる開催となりますが、産業界、研究機関、行政機関、国際機関、学術機関より参加いただく皆様におかれましても、博士課程教育の更なる発展に向けた活発な意見交換にぜひご協力をお願いいたします。

In the 21st century, the world-shaking incidents have occurred one after another, and Japan is becoming the society of the aged with no similarities seen in the world. Under these circumstances, excellent human resources are indispensable in solving global challenges for future generations, and the Program for Leading Graduate Schools (Leading Program in short) supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) was launched in 2011.
We would like to focus on the legacies from the Leading Program in this forum because it is the last opportunity that all respective programs get together. It is being held with the cooperation of 62 programs from 33 universities and supported by the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren), the Central Japan Economic Federation, and the Chubu Association of Corporate Executives. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all who are working to make this forum a success. For representatives of industry, research institutes, government bodies, international organizations, and academia, we hope you to participate discussions actively for the progress and development of graduate school systems to foster excellent PhDs.

博士課程教育へのご理解とご支援、そして本フォーラムへのご出席にお礼申し上げます。「博士課程教育リーディングプログラム」は、優秀な学生を俯瞰力と独創力を備え広く産学官にわたりグローバルに活躍する未来のリーダーとして養成することを目的とした、文部科学省の事業です。2011年以降全国33大学62プログラムが採択され、本年度は、初年度採択プログラムが事業最終年度を迎える節目の年にあたります。「博士課程教育リーディングフォーラム2017」は、「リーディングプログラムのレガシーと修了生への期待」をテーマに、各プログラムでの幅広い取り組みを振り返り、履修生自身が得 た成果や身に付けたスキルを発信するにとどまらず、「リーディングプログラムが今後の大学院教育に受け継ぐべき財産（レガシー）とは何か」を議論し、文書としてもまとめます。また、既に社会で活躍する修了生をお招きし、リーディングプログラムが博士人材のキャリア決定にどう影響したかについても取り上げます。

The Program for Leading Graduate Schools (Leading Program in short) supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Spots, Science and Technology (MEXT) aims to enhance the development of doctoral degree holders. This program is designed to foster students to become leaders who have high levels of specialization, are able to scrutinize society from a broad perspective, and who will play active roles globally, in the industrial, academic and governmental sectors. A total of 62 programs have been adopted in 33 universities throughout Japan from 2011, and this year is the last part of the fiscal year for all the programs that commenced with the inception of the Leading Program. In this Forum, we would like to focus on the legacies from the respective programs and how they can endow future graduate students with prospective opportunities. In addition to showcasing the programs, the forum will display the outcome and skills that the students gained through their activities. Furthermore, some program graduates will share their experiences for us to discuss how the Leading Program actually influences the student’s career choice.

本フォーラムは、リーディングプログラムで得られた成果を振り返り、それらを広く大学院教育改革へと発展させていくためのヒントとなるようなプログラム構成としました。
基調講演では、国立研究開発法人科学技術振興機構濵口道成理事長とBTジャパン株式会社吉田晴乃社長の産官を代 表するエネルギッシュなお二人から、リーディングプログラムの成果や博士人材に対する期待について講演いただきます。そのあとは、学生が主体となるプログラムが続きます。まず今年度が事業最終年度となる20プログラムの学生が、活動を通じて得たスキルや成果を報告します。また、ポスター発表においても多くの学生がプログラムでの学びを参加者に発信します。
続くパネルディスカッションでは、学生による各界に向けた 提言を行います。これはフォーラム開催に先立ち、学生自身がプログラムの出口戦略について議論した成果の発表であり、提言内容については、二日目の分科会でさらに深化させます。他にも学生企画では、プログラム修了生に対する事前インタビューを元に、修了生のキャリア選択にリーディングプログラム が与えた影響について取り上げます。また、名古屋大学が大切にしている女性活躍を中心としたダイバーシティ・マネジメントについても、学生による事前議論、分科会での発表を行います。以上のような学生の生の声を聞く機会を多く用意する一方で、全国のプログラムにご協力いただき、これまでに培って きた独自教育ノウハウの共有を実現します。そのまとめは二日目の分科会で披露され、今後の貴重な財産になるものと確信しております。
最後になりましたが、学生のみなさんには、本フォーラムにおいて活発かつ建設的な議論を戦わせてくれることを期待しています。

In the occasion of completion of first 20 programs for leading graduate school, we have to look back on these years to recognize our achievement. It is our mission to reform graduate education based on the accomplishment of leading programs. We hope you can find a clue for the reformation thorough talks and discussions in this forum. In the 2017 forum, we have invited two very energetic keynote speakers, Dr. Michinari Hamaguchi, president of JST, and Ms. Haruno Yoshida, President of BT Japan, who will address their expectation on the programs and their graduates.
In this forum, we especially feature students. Students from 20 programs which will be completed in this fiscal year give short presentations about their experiences. They also give poster presentation about what they have learned through program activities, together with students from programs which will continue one or two more years.
Prior to the forum, Students gather in Nagoya university and discuss about career development and curriculumintegration as well as make propositions aimed towards industry, government and academia. Some propositions will be presented at the panel discussion on the first day. Moreover, students organize their own project in which they discuss about career choices after their PhD, with taking interviews of graduates from leading programs and invite them to give a short presentation. We also plan to have a workshop on diversity management lead by students.
Thanks to cooperation from each program, we have the opportunity to share knowledge about the distinctive activities in the leading programs. Finally, for all graduate students, we expect your warm, constructive discussions through this Forum 2017.
